Industrial membrane systems generate large amounts of operational data, yet turning that data into confident maintenance and performance decisions remains difficult. Through Versa Solution, founder Samira Ehsani is pursuing a clear mission: helping operators get more value from the data they already collect. Her LinkedIn motto, “Fight for your dream,” reflects the determination behind that mission.
Many decisions relating to maintenance, performance and optimisation remain reactive, based on fixed schedules, experience or alarms that are triggered only after a problem has become apparent and performance has begun to decline.
Versa Solution, based in Utrecht, aims to change this with Quantaro, a read-only AI advisory layer for different types of industrial membrane systems, including reverse osmosis, ultrafiltration and nanofiltration. Quantaro operates on top of existing installations, uses data that is already available and requires no additional hardware. The platform provides recommendations without interfering with the control system of the installation.
“Many facilities already have valuable data available,” explains CEO Samira Ehsani. “The challenge is to turn that data into timely insights: what is happening in the process, what does it mean for performance, and should the operator continue, clean, inspect or consider replacing the membranes? Our goal is to give membrane systems a brain, so that decisions become less dependent on fixed schedules and more on what is actually happening inside the installation.”
“Quantaro is designed for industrial companies and water operators that own or operate membrane systems. We also work with OEMs, system integrators, digital platform providers and knowledge institutes,” says Ehsani.
“The real value lies not only in collecting data, but in turning it into better operational decisions. That can help extend membrane life, reduce unnecessary maintenance, lower energy and chemical consumption, and minimise unplanned downtime.”
Versa Solution is one of the seven finalists in the WIS Award 2026, Water Alliance’s innovation award for Dutch water technology companies. The final will take place on 26 October during the European Water Technology Week (EWTW) in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands. The other finalists are CIWI, Deep, Flowless, Luper Technologies, Solaq and Spectromarine.
